Hiking
Hiking is a good leisure activity in Calpe and its surroundings. Indeed, there are several routes to hike and you can enjoy the rich nature with mountain ranges, such as Peñon d’Ifach and the Paseo Ecológico. There are numerous documented and well-signposted routes in the municipality of Calpe.
Hiking Routes
Peñon d’Ifach
Mount Ifach is accessible to everyone. In about 1 hour you can reach the top of the Ifach. The first part of the hike goes over a beautiful landscaped path and gives at various points already a beautiful view of, among others, the harbor and the salt lake of Calpe with the famous flamingos.
Paseo Ecológico
The “paseo ecológico” is a walking route that runs along the coastline of Calpe towards Benissa. It is a beautifully constructed path, which is accessible throughout the year. In the warmer months it is also doable because the many bushes and trees provide shade and thus coolness.
Bicycles
The Costa Blanca, because of its climate and many hills and mountains, is often used as a training area by various cycling teams and mountain bikers. Of course, the sporty and recreational holidaymakers will also find an ideal area for tours and training. You can go to various bicycle rental companies.
Horseback riding
For horse lovers, discovering the Costa Blanca by horse is a wonderful activity. A 20 minute drive from our apartment you will find a riding school in Benissa. They have qualified instructors and offer lessons for all levels. They also offer rides and walks to the Peña de Olta, Lleus area, Lliber, Jalon, Gata, Parcent etc.. where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Golf
The area is also perfect for a nice golf vacation, because in the immediate vicinity are well-maintained golf courses with all facilities.
Water Sports
In Calpe there is a Kitesurfing zone in the sea where competitions are held. There is also a lot of diving and snorkeling in Calpe. There are several places along the Costa Blanca where you can rent equipment and take lessons.

In the region you will find several well-attended flea markets. The market in Jalon is worth a special mention. This is a large cozy market and for wine lovers well combined with a visit to the various bodegas of this town.

Aqualandia:
Water park with various attractions for different ages. Open from April to November.

Animal park with mainly birds and dolphins. Show with dolphins, suitable for young and old.

Theme park equipped with many great attractions.
Algar waterfalls
Discover the Algar waterfalls in the magnificent Les Fonts de l’Algar Nature Reserve. Take a dip in the natural pools, admire the waterfalls and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. A very suitable day activity for the whole family!
Rio Safari Park in Elche
The Rio Safari park is the best setting for a day out. The park is surrounded by a palm tree field and is home to hundreds of animals from all over the world. Shows and animal encounters can be enjoyed daily.
